At the heart of our programme is Guy Barker’s Wood On The Tracks, which lends its name to both the evening and our forthcoming release on SOMM Records. Newly commissioned works – including Roderick Elms’s high-energy Divertimento, Simon Baggs’s contemplative Soliloquy and Edward Harris-Brown’s playful Not Now, Cato! – sit in striking contrast alongside Purcell’s Fantasias, whose freshness and vitality remain unmistakably modern.
